Cordelia and Ant's September Fforest Farm Wedding

Updated: Dec 28, 2022

We were so blooming excited when we were asked to be part of creating the floral vision for Cordelia and Ant's special day. Firstly because they had chosen the incredible fforestweddings.co.uk one of the most environmentally conscious Pembrokeshire Wedding venues boasting zero food miles for the eco wedding of your dreams. Fforest offer 3 different venues, but Cordelia and Ant had chosen Fforest Farm with it's quirky Tipi and super cute tiny pub.

The second reason was because the flowers were a gift from the Bride's girl friends, affectionately called 'The Juice Girls' (They all used to work in a juice bar!) which made it extra special.

From the off it was clear that Cordelia and Ant wanted to embrace all the beautiful Autumnal colours that September flowers have to offer, keeping it seasonal, loose and natural. They opted for 2 milk churns, which could be easily moved to the different areas utilised throughout the day. The evening before the wedding they were sat outside the tiny pub welcoming guests as they arrived. During the wedding ceremony itself they flanked the Tipi and then during the Wedding breakfast they adorned the barn entrance before ending the day back at the Tipi to party the night away! Cordelia was particularly taken with the Dahlias we grow and September just happens to be when these particular beauties are at their best.

The day was caught on camera by the excellent, locally based wedding photographer leiamiaweddings.com who managed to capture some really special images of THAT dress, the joy of everyone who was present and of course, the flowers!

We love that, even though Cordelia and Ant were not from West Wales they chose to use a local photographer, locally grown seasonal flowers and selected a venue that celebrates the best of locally grown and reared food.

Cordelia wanted her bouquet to be like an armful of Dahlias in Autumnal colours, with Cosmos (Another September favourite) jumping out of the bouquet to create negative space and a lovely textural element. We added some dusty pink roses and hydrangeas for extra texture and depth, all grown by ourselves, with no nasty chemicals, as nature intended, in the foothills of the Preselis just 14 miles from Fforest Farm.

The bouquet was finished with a long length of hand died Habotai silk ribbon by Bristol based fellow flower farmer studioevig.com

The whole weekend felt like a balmy Indian summer, with family and friends from far and wide celebrating this awesome, super special couple.

Llongyfarchiadau Cordelia and Ant!

We're so glad your special day was everything you dreamed of and more.
