A Colourful Woodland Wedding in Pembrokeshire
This wedding at Gelli Fawr Woodland Retreat was in early Spring, the earliest we’ve done actually, but Sophie and Sam’s vision of a woodland wedding, recreating the early days of Spring, embracing colour, texture and nature was just too irresistible to turn down!

We wanted the arrangements to feel as though they had been gathered from the surrounding landscape, with a little extra colour making it feel really wild, but full of movement and personality.
For the ceremony space we created a free standing staggered arch that encapsulated the moon door structure in the Gelli Fawr ceremony room. For extra colour we added chair ties featuring fragrant Narcissi, eucalyptus and ranunculus.
Bringing colour to an early March wedding
Early March can be a wonderful time for a wedding, but it is also a time when the garden is just beginning to wake up.
With spring still on its way, we love using flowers that bring a sense of freshness and optimism to the day. The colourful palette for this wedding was a beautiful contrast to the catkin filled branches and natural foliage, creating a design that felt lively, romantic and full of character.
The bridal bouquet brought all those colours together, with a rich mix of blooms, interesting textures and natural movement. Finished with a long, deep green ribbon, it was a lovely complement to the bride’s dress and the overall woodland feel.

Sophie’s bouquet was a colourful mix of anemones, ranunculus, tulips, snap dragons and narcissi, with textural mixed foliage for shape and movement.
Flowers that feel connected to nature
At Blossoms and Berries, we love creating wedding flowers that feel connected to the seasons and the landscape around us.
As a flower farm and floral design studio in Pembrokeshire, we grow many of our own flowers and enjoy bringing locally grown blooms into our wedding designs wherever the season allows.
For this wedding, the combination of natural branches, foliage and colourful flowers created the kind of relaxed, untamed look that so reflects our style of floristry.
It was a reminder that wedding flowers don’t need to be perfectly uniform or overly structured to make an impact. Sometimes, the most beautiful designs are those that embrace the natural shapes and character of the flowers themselves.
These gorgeous photos were captured by Rhian Marie Photography, a lovely relaxed photographer with a great eye. We love her!
Whilst all the luscious photos were being taken, we were moving the ceremony room flowers to the main reception room, where we split them down into a floor meadow in front of the top table with the staggered arch framing the stage behind.

For the guest tables we created gorgeous Spring bowls to ensure plenty of colour all round the room.
A colourful celebration of spring
This wedding was such a lovely way to welcome the beginning of the wedding season, with its woodland-inspired details, vibrant flowers and relaxed, natural atmosphere.
We loved creating something that reflected the couple’s personality while bringing a little of the surrounding landscape into their celebration.
If you’re planning a wedding in Pembrokeshire or West Wales and love the idea of colourful, natural wedding flowers, we’d love to hear from you!

At Blossoms and Berries, we create wild and natural floral designs inspired by nature and the seasons, using flowers grown on our own flower farm wherever possible.
Whether you’re dreaming of a woodland-inspired wedding, a colourful spring celebration or something completely your own, we’d love to help bring your ideas to life.
