Being a keen gardener, Elen’s vision for her and Rob’s wedding flowers was all about embracing bright Spring flowering bulbs and creating the impression of a wildly romantic Spring garden. Gellifawr Woodland Retreat lends itself perfectly to this very naturalistic floristry style and to seasonal flowers, with many of the blooms featured seen in the verges on the way to the venue.

We arrived nice and early and had lots of fun getting creative, Rob had cut some Eucalyptus from their own garden and asked us to incorporate it, so we kept the stems super long and bushy, so it felt really natural in the design. We wanted the arch to feel very three dimensional, with ceramic pots creating a path through the design from front to back. We also created a long and low ceremony table centrepiece, with escaping flowers and foliage, in keeping with the naturalistic vibe.

Whilst we were busy creating, Elen and her besties were getting ready in the Salon, it’s such a lovely space, with Anna Storch HMUA and Salon 27 doing a wonderful job at making everyone look stunning 😍

With Elen almost ready to get dressed I took the opportunity to show her the finished ceremony space video on my phone. It can be a bit distracting and hard to take it all in when your walking down the aisle, so I like to show brides beforehand so they know what to expect. Then it was time to add the finishing touches to her bouquet, in this instance a little charm featuring Elen’s much loved Grandfather.

Elen opted for a round bouquet with plenty of seasonal bright colours, the Tulips were in full swing, plus gorgeously scented Narcissi, blousy Ranunculus and quirky Anemones. We’re completely in love with this colour combo ❤️

On hand to capture everything on film was Helen from Break Every Chain Productions, a documentary style filmmaker with an amazing energy and so much fun to be around! Helen’s films are a real celebration of your day, capturing all the quirky moments and joyful energy 😁

Other personal flowers featured were 2 willow heart wands for the flowers girls, 3 Bridesmaids bouquets, pocket square boutonnières for the Bridesmen and standard buttonholes for the Groom and Groomsmen.

With everybody ready and raring to go it was time to head down the aisle!

The ceremony was so personal, with lots of singing, poetry and laughter 😁 afterwards it was time for the guard of honour provided by the Groomsmen in their RAF uniform, followed by plenty of confetti and congratulations!

The stunning photography for the day was provided by one of the best in Wales Mary W-Thomas Photography assisted by Michael Walton Photography as second shooter. Such a great plan, with so much going on, 2 shooters ensure that everything is captured and from multiple angles. There is so much to love about this gorgeous wedding album ❤️

After the group shots, there was just enough time to spend some time together just the two of them.

Then it was time for the wedding breakfast! We had been super busy moving the arch from the ceremony room and transforming it into a floor garden in front of the top table.

The idea was to create a little garden featuring ceramic pots, all repurposed from the ceremony room. The table centres for the guest tables featured living plants nestled in moss with 3 mixed height bud vases per tables.

After the wedding breakfast the couple were whisked off into the Preseli Hills for the most stunning golden hour shots!
